IT'S OFFICIAL!!!! RASTA ITALIST IS AN "EVERGREEN"!!!

"Evergreen" is what a roots reggae album is called when it has the timeless quality of the roots reggae classics of the past and Rasta Italist has proven to be a timeless classic of the modern era! The CD is part of the movement towards a roots revival currently sweeping the international reggae scene.

A full three years after it's release in September 2007, the landmark "Rasta Italist" CD is still in steady rotation and charting on radio stations around the world! Songs from the cd are also widely heard on webradio, utube and many music sites including ilike, lastfm, myspace etc...

Notably, SEEFARI's AMMA award-winning song "Mary Jane" (Best Reggae Song 2008) is #5 this week (ending Sep 13, 2010) on the ILRN Australian Indie Reggae Top Ten Chart!

Since it's release, 9 songs and 3 dubs from the CD have made hundreds of appearances in radio top ten charts around the world, including several #1s.

Three songs from the CD won AMMA awards in 2008 and 2009, "Mary Jane" (Best Reggae Song 2008) "Mary Jane Dub" (Best Dub 2009) and "Peaceful Village" (Best Spiritual Song 2009). "Rootsman" was featured in the Puerto Rico episode of "Island hoppers TV" hosted by Miami-based DJ/VJ Lance-O on the Sunsport channel.

"Here comes the sun (featuring ijahmelody)" is the new single from ground-breaking reggae/world music artist SEEFARI on Upful Sound Records. The unique reggae version of the classic Beatles song was released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original “Here comes the sun” (from the Beatles “Abbey Road” album) released in the summer of 1969. The three-track CD single/EP also includes a “DJ” version (on which SEEFARI “name-checks” each of the fab four) and a dub version.

The single showcases the multi-talented SEEFARI’s skills as a singer, multi-instrumentalist, DJ/rapper and producer. The updated “rockers” style riddim anchors this remake and the classic melody is given new life through ijahmelody’s sweet, silky harmonies. Her multi-tracked voice rides the riddim like a songbird with angel’s wings, lifting the song to higher heights! Last week the CD was aired in Jamaica on miyard’s “Live and Direct from Negril" worldwide radio broadcast. Jumbalaya, host of "One World" and world music director at KJAK in Flagstaff, AZ is adding Rasta Italist, Pray Every Day, and I love dub to regular rotation on KJAK. “Rasta Italist” is holding steady @ #3 most downloaded songs @RadiodirectX Radio Promo site in Toronto for the last 2 months. Recent downloads include radio stations in St Marten, WI, The UK, Italy, Germany, Canada, USA, Netherlands, Australia etc.. Since January, nine songs from the "Rasta Italist" CD have made more than 50 appearances in reggae and world music Top Ten charts in several different countries. "Rasta Italist" and "Rootsman" both reached #1!

The CD has proven to be a crossover success with reggae, world and rock DJs and the CD has been getting heavy radio action and rave reviews worldwide. In the latest issue of "The Beat" magazine (LA) Writer/DJ Chuck Foster compared SEEFARI to Lee "Scratch" Perry and other critics have compared his work favorably to reggae icons Pablo Moses, Dennis Brown and Bob Marley.

"Rasta Italist" continues to grow in popularity 10 months after it's release and almost 6 months since the CD began to show up in Top Ten radio charts around the world. The CD has proven to have staying power, with heavy to moderate airplay continuing on radio stations and webcasts around the world. SEEFARI's latest CD "Rasta Italist" continues to grow in popularity 9 months after it's release and almost 6 months since the CD began to show up in Top Ten radio charts around the world. This chart is based on downloads by radio DJs and Music Directors at radio stations around the world.
